Creating new sources of venture capital?

Article Abstract:

UK investment houses have generally not been willing to provide funds for business start-ups, in sharp contrast to the counterparts in the US. However, this may change as the trend towards corporate divestments accelerates. Making divestments leads to funds becoming available, and these could be used to assist start-up concerns. This could in turn lead to the creation of constellation corporations, with the original parent company taking on the role of a traditional industrial investment trust.
