Cargoes bound for North Asia must have complete documentation if it is to arrive at its intended destination at the specified date, according Jae Lie, North Asia regional director for San Francisco, CA-based Fritz Companies Inc. Lie adds that, similar to their US counterparts, shipping regulators in Taiwan, South Korea, China, Hong Kong and Japan strictly enforce the laws that govern the export and import of products. Lie offer some helpful tips to follow when doing business in North Asia, including maintaining a good working relationship with the firms that offer transportation and logistics services.

Prime Produce ships various goods from the former Soviet Union for the country's Sea-Land Service, a US-flag ocean carrier. The Sea-Land Service handles the St. Petersburg, Russia area that currently needs more terminal space, better layout, more container cranes, maintenance and repair facilities and all types of in-yard container-handling equipment. The area needs management consistent with the volumes required by the port, according to Fred Schardt, managing director of Europe, Africa and the Middle East for Fritz Cos. in San Francisco, CA.

AVG Inc of Chatsworth, CA, delves in the design and production of unique technological products for theme parks all over the world. Among the numerous projects that the company handled are Universal Studio's 'Battlestar Galactica' ride and the 'Star Patrol' interactive dark ride exported to Japan. When commissioned to prepare an entertainment product for an oversea client, AVG usually makes the design and parts at its California base and constructs the entire equipment at the final destination.
