Crown Cork & Seal sees lower quarterly profit

Article Abstract:

Crown Cork & Seal Co. cautioned that it is forecasting lower-than-expected earnings for the second-quarter of 1999. The company attributed its negative forecast to a weaker business environment in Europe, as well as to reduced demand for beverage cans in the US. Crown Cork & Seal said it expected to post 75 cents to 77 cents in earnings per diluted share for the quarter. The company's previous guidance predicted 90 cents per share.
