Crude calculation: awash in a gusher of cash, oil firms are reluctant investors

Article Abstract:

Though oil companies are collecting substantial profits, they are choosing not to invest in exploration and drilling in hopes of staving off a glut in oil supply which, though good for the economy, could potentially spell doom for their bottom line and their investors. Meanwhile, analysts at the International Energy Agency are warning that the current lack in oil and gas exploration could lead to a severe lack of supply to meet the demand necessary to keep world economies afloat.
