Article Abstract:

The Danish subsidiary of the Norwegian company Statoil reports a DKr 1,612mn (USD 213mn) operating loss for 1999. The reason behind the loss is depreciation totaling DKr 1,650mn of the refinery at Kalundborg owing to redundant capacity. The parent company Statoil Denmark has now made a DKr 661mn capital injection into the operating company Statoil A/S.

Denmark: DONG's first half 2001 results

Article Abstract:

DONG, the Danish state-owned oil and natural gas company, posts a DKr1.4bn profit after tax for the first half of 2001 vs. DKr1.3bn in the same period last year. DONG ascribes the profit growth to higher oil prices and higher dollar rate. DONG does not expect this year's profit to reach DKr2.5bn reported last year. The reason for this is the higher purchase prices for natural gas this year compared with 2000.
