DENMARK: PRICE REDUCTION ON DISTRICT HEATING

Article Abstract:

The excise on district heating will be standardized in Denmark. This will have the effect that district heating rates will be reduced by DKr 500-800 (USD 60-95) on an annual basis for most households from the beginning of 2001. However, for clients that pay low rates, owing to a short distance to the district power plant, the cost will increase. In future, even industries' district heating rates will be lowered, the paper writes.

Denmark: 80 jobs cuts at Logstor Ror

Article Abstract:

Logstor Ror, that produces pipes for the district heating industry, is to shed 80 jobs in Denmark, which accounts for 80% of the work force. MD Ole Bogelund ascribes this decision to falling order inflow caused by rising prices of oil and gas that in turn has delayed decisions regarding district heating investments.
