DENMARK: STEEN & STROM TO INTRODUCE E-COMMERCE

Article Abstract:

Steen & Strom, the Norwegian property developer, is planning to introduce an electronic commerce system for its 17 retail centres in Denmark. The centres total 790 stores, representing 40% of the retail centre market in Denmark. The first centre to be included is City 2, Taastrup , which will offer its products to customers via the Internet from the Spring of 2000. Soren Brogaard, director of Steen & Strom, says it's important that all centres are included in the system.

US: SEPHORA PRESENTS INTERNET SITE

Article Abstract:

Sephora wants to use the Internet as a tool to develop the customer loyalty in the US, through attracting its regular customers with the new service. The US-based luxury cosmetics and fragrances distribution network has set up Sephora.com, a new Web site which offers the same range (250 brands) as in Sephora's boutiques. The new site will be available to the US consumers only, as the marketing legislation is very tough in Europe. Sephora is part of the LVMH group.

DENMARK/FINLAND: H&M TO OFFER INTERNET SERVICES

Article Abstract:

Hennes & Mauritz (H&M), the Swedish clothing retailer, is planning to start offering sales via the Internet in Denmark and Finland. In Sweden, such services are already offered through the subsidiary H&M Rowells.
