DENMARK:TELE DANMARK BUYS STAKES IN POLISH FIRMS

Article Abstract:

Tele Danmark, the Danish telecommunications company, yesterday bought a 51% stake of six small Polish Internet companies for DKr171mn (US$29.1mn). Tele Danmark also has an option to buy another 24% of the capital by 2003. These six companies are to be merged to form the third biggest Internet service provider in Poland. Tele Danmark CEO Henning Dyremose announced yesterday that the company will broaden its geographic base and target new markets in Europe such as England.

DENMARK: TELE DANMARK BUYS TOPREACH

Article Abstract:

TDC Forlag, owned by Tele Danmark, has acquired TopReach, the Swedish Internet company. The parties have not disclosed the purchase price. TopReach mediates contacts between individual users and companies as regards hotel booking among other things. TopReach sends a client's wishes to a number of co-operation partners urging them to contact the client by e-mail.

DENMARK: RUMORS OF TELE DANMARK SALE

Article Abstract:

In light of an analysis published by J.P. Morgan, Danish financial daily Borsen finds it very likely that American company SBC Communications is preparing drop its presence in Europe and sell Tele Danmark.
