De Beers to pay $10 million fine, ending 10-year price-fixing suit

Major diamond industry company De Beers S.A. admits to having conspired with another manufacturer to fix industrial diamond prices. General Electric Co. was implicated in the case brought against De Beers by the U.S. Justice Department, though General Electric's acquittal in an earlier case protects it from new charges.
