A mother recounts how she racked up huge amounts of debt. She says her overdependence on credit cards gave her a sense of depression, then desperation, which leads to a false sense of control and denial. However, she was able to pay off all her debts and stop using credit cards altogether. She started the 'Cheapskate Monthly' newsletter.
