Denmark: Denmark to identify anti-terror industry

Article Abstract:

Dansk Industri, the Confederation of Danish Industries, is to initiate a process to identify those Danish companies that are working with or could be working with operations aimed to combat terrorism. Ena Bjerregaard of Dansk Industri says this is a way of finding out how the Danish industry can help the Danish society as well as the international community in fighting against terrorism. Apart from the defence and aerospace industry Bjerregaard mentions other companies that could provide help in this respect such as Bruhn Newtech, that has developed software for the detection and surveillance of emissions related to NBC-warfare (nuclear-biological-chemical warfare). Another example is Innova Airtech that develops equipment for measuring various types of emissions. The Danish defence industry operates in the fields of advanced electronics, software and the development of new materials.

Denmark: Ditas and Dendek plan a merger

Article Abstract:

Ditas and Dendek, aim to merge to get a bigger share of the Danish market of retail sales of building materials. It would rank second in the Nordic region after Danske Traelast. The new player and Danske Traelast would together hold a 90% share of the sales of building materials in Denmark. The Danish Competition authority is critical of the plans and could stop the merger provided that it will be brought up at the annual general meetings of the companies next year.
