Vacancies prompt travel industry to lower New Year's Eve prices

Article Abstract:

Cruise lines, hotels and airlines may yet be proven wrong in their estimates that New Year's Eve would be a total sell-out for them. As the time to pay nears, travelers are balking at the exorbitant rates that the travel sector, especially hotels, are imposing on them. Airlines have also not decided on their schedules since airports have not reported on their Y2K compliance. The lack of enthusiasm for millenium travel has prompted some sectors in the travel industry including hotels and cruise lines to offer discounts.
