Article Abstract:

Technology parks such as those found in industrialized countries that include Singapore, Sweden and Ireland, are one way of grooming potential local engineers and scientists who can adapt US technology for domestic requirements or entirely developing new technology of global value. ;A majority of overseas technology parks are sponsored partly or wholly by governments and they generally prohibit participation of US firms. Participating firms in the government-sponsored Singapore Science Park include Lucent Technologies, Seagate and AT&T, among others.
