Denmark: Investors focus on property again

Article Abstract:

Investors are increasingly turning to property investments in the wake of the crisis on the international stock market. The global crisis has impacted the property market as well but the impact has been merely a marginal one. Bjarne Jensen of Copenhagen-based Home Erhverv says investors are tired of the global recession and are focusing on real estate. The US-based consultancy company Jones Lang LaSalle Group agreed with this. In its latest new letter it writes that real estate will be a good long-term investment due to stability and a good short-term investment pending a boom. The present economic crisis is deemed more serious than was anticipated earlier and it is expected to extend into 2002. According to Jones Lang LaSalle, property will outpace shares as the best investment object for the second year in a row.
