Denmark: TDC to launch wireless broadband technology

Article Abstract:

TDC, the Danish telecoms company, is to launch a new wireless broadband technology i Denmark as from next years, according to Per Ole Heltov, net manager at TDC Mobil. The technology, called wireless local network, is to supply the future UMTS networks and will give clients access to higher speeds. TDC declines to reveal the size of the investment. MD Torben Rune of the telecoms consultancy company Netplan says "wireless local network will have the same impact on data communications as mobile phones have on telephony".

DENMARK: GN NETCOM CONTINUES EXPANSION

Danish company GN Netcom continues to focus on aggressive growth. The aim is technological leadership in developing headsets for the rapidly growing market segments among mobile phone and PC users. CEO Niels Christiansen believes that 4-5 years from now, headsets will not be among the mobile phone manufacturers' core businesses. By then GN Netcom will be ready to take over these operations, says Christiansen. This summer, GN Netcom will launch its first headset based on Bluetooth-technology.

Denmark: RTX Telecom signs contract with US company

Article Abstract:

RTX Telecom, the Danish technology company, has signed a contract with the US company LitePoint Corporation. Under the contract LitePoint will market RTX Telecom's wireless IT solutions, including Bluetooth, DCT, 2,4GHz and CDMA, on the North American market through its subsidiary Wireless Partnership. This contract is expected to consolidate RTX's position.
