Danish venture companies A/S Brandts Ventures and Growth.dk A/S are planning a merger that is scheduled to take place in January. The merger would secure liquidity for financing operations and paying debts. Brandts Venture is a venture company for Internet companies whereas Growth.DK describes itself as a "development company" within the new economy.

DENMARK: 2M INVEST IN NORDIC VENTURE ALLIANCE

Article Abstract:

Danish 2M Invest, Swedish Ledstiernan and Norwegian Telenor Venture have started an investment fund called Global Venture Alliance. A Finnish partner is also expected to join the alliance in the near future. The fund will invest in some 50 companies over the next 1-2 years, says 2M Invest's CEO Michael Mathiesen.

DENMARK: VENTURE CAPITAL RESERVE AT DKR40BN

Article Abstract:

Danish venture capital companies have a cash balance of almost DKr40bn (US$4.8bn), which is five to six times bigger than estimated. This emerges from a survey conducted by the School of Economics and Business Administration in Copenhagen. The sector last year invested DKr6.7bn in new companies.
