Designing mature Internet business strategies: the ICDT model

Article Abstract:

Companies which are changing their products or services because of the impact of the Internet need an appropriate Internet business strategy. The Internet is usually viewed as being either a channel of information, communication, distribution or transaction and this model is used to as a framework to show the changes which companies need to make, such as identifying new markets, in order to capitalize on the full potential of the Internet.

Internet-business or just business? Impact of 'Internet-Specific' strategies on venture performance

Article Abstract:

A survey of 406 Internet ventures in the UK was conducted to examine the relationship between 21 internet-specific strategies' and the performance of internet-trading ventures. The results revealed that the coefficients were weak and the regression model proved statiscally insignificant despite the significant correlations between the majority of 'internet-specific strategies' and venture performance in at least one industrial sector.

Implications of the Internet for knowledge creation and dissemination in clusters of hi-tech firms

Article Abstract:

Cases of high tech firms in Cambridge, UK, provide an insight into the influence of the Internet on the regional development of the cluster of hi-tech firms. The identification of four Internet drivers showcases the changing business practices of firms in clusters and the creation of new sources of regional competence due to the Internet.
