Despite earnings slip, Intel expects a good 2nd half

Article Abstract:

Intel Corp. posted earnings that were slightly below what analysts predicted for the second-quarter of 1999. The company's quarterly earnings were affected by declining chip prices. However, Intel said that its sales and profit margins for the second-half of 1999 should be solid. The company reported $1.7 billion (1.67 billion euros) in net income for the quarter. Intel posted $6.7 billion in revenues. This was 5% below the first quarter.
