Deutsche Bank plans to cut about 10% of its work force

Deutsche Bank AG plans to eliminate almost 10,000 jobs, roughly 10% of its work force. The job cuts coincide with the bank's efforts to explain to stock-market regulators why its quarterly earnings were leaked to a news agency on Wednesday.

Societe Generale sets more Asia cuts

Societe Generale S.A. is planning to reduce its labor force in Singapore by 60 employees. The layoff is the second one planned for the company in Singapore, where it has a staff of about 400 employees.
