Devolution can be salvation

Article Abstract:

Offering limited autonomy to nationalist groups within a country can often defuse movements to break off and form their own country. This has proved true in Russia, France, Spain, Germany and Italy. The United Kingdom is hoping that by giving some self-rule to Scotland, it will remain part of the UK.

Sound salvation: America's radio business

Article Abstract:

The FCC plans to relax ownership restrictions to allow 30 AM and 30 FM stations to be owned by one firm and three stations controlled by the same firm in one market. Although the new rules would aid stations financially, opponents fear programming would become bland.
