Dilemma and decision

Article Abstract:

Executives who are working long hours and finding it difficult to concentrate on anything but their work to the detriment of their families and own well-being may be headed towards depression or a nervous breakdown due to stress. This situation requires a radical change of lifestyle to ameliorate the effects of stress. Executives feeling stress should share their feelings with their bosses. Enlightened managers realize everyone experiences stress from the work environment and will not hold an admission of stress or strategies undertaken to cope with stress against an employee, thus preserving the executives' chances for career progression. Executives reluctant to discuss the situation with their boss in order to find solutions may breakdown or burnout, hurting their careers much more thoroughly in the process.

Ericsson turns to alliances in hunt for more growth

Article Abstract:

Telefon AB L.M. Ericcson (Stockholm, Sweden) is the most global of large telecommunications firms, and its up-to-date AXE switching technology is in place or on order in almost 70 nations. An attempt to gain a place in US markets failed in the mid-1980s, however, and the effort cost Ericsson $300 million over the last three years. European operations continue to thrive, accounting for 65 percent of Ericsson group sales, boosting 1986 pre-tax profits by four percent, to $128 million on $4.5 billion in sales.
