Domestic appliances and consumer electronics in Belgium

Article Abstract:

Consumer spending on domestic appliances has remained stable in Belgium at around BFr 51,500 billion in 1997. Conflicting data suggests Belgium's production of domestic appliances declined in 1997. Output of audio visual equipment grew 2.9% in value to BFr 45.5 billion in 1997 from 1995, but sales stagnated at around BFr 43,000 billion following 5% growth in 1996. The domestic appliance and audio visual product industries believes market growth is highly dependent on economic recovery and improving consumer confidence.
