News Corp. shares drop 6% on a cut in results forecasts

News Corp. saw its share value fall by 6% after the forecasts for tis 2000-01 revenues and operating income was lowered. The firm reduced by $96 million (102.7 million euros) to $14.7 billion its revenue estimates for the period.

Dow Jones cuts earnings projections and plans to reduce its work force

Article Abstract:

Dow Jones and Co. lowered its earnings forecasts for the 2001 first-quarter to 16 US cents to 20 cents per share, compared to 88 cents during the same period in 2000. The company is also planning to downsize its work force.
