Dragonair buys Airbus jets as mainland activity takes off. (Hong Kong Dragon Airline Ltd., buys Airbus Industrie aircrafts)

Hong Kong Dragon Airline Ltd., buys six jet aircrafts from France's Airbus Industrie and has option to buy two more. Dragon Airline also has plans to lease another line of jet aircrafts from International Lease Finance Corp., and it is expanding services in China.

Airbus Signs 111-Plane Deal, Its Biggest-Ever Contract

International Lease Finance Corp. has ordered 111 jetliners from Airbus Industrie. The $8.7 billion contract is the largest ever for Airbus.

Chinese airlines get clearance to order Boeing jets

Article Abstract:

Boeing Co. has received a $2 billion order for 36 Boeing 737 jets to be split among Air China, China Eastern Airlines, Shanghai Airlines, China Southern Airways, and Hainan Airlines. The contract comes after a visit by U.S. Secretary of State Colin Powell to Beijing which served to smooth relations between China and the U.S. after the collision incident in April.
