E-mail marketing in a private world

Article Abstract:

The Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) legislates that e-mail marketers must provide an explicit reason to customers for collecting their personal information and asking only relevant information to the identified purpose. Such laws are designed to provide customers with built-in assurances of privacy and to allow them to trust personal information with the respect it deserves.
