ECB isn't expected to cut rates

The European Central Bank (ECB) is not expected to reduce interest rates, due to concerns about war in Iraq, oil prices, and the strength of the euro. Economists have called on maintaining current interest rate levels.

ECB seems to be poised for first rate increase

The European Central Bank could rase short term interest rates on Nov 4, 1999, for the first time since it was established in early 1999. Robust economic growth in the region is the reason for the possible interest rate change.
