ESS-FOOD IND I METRO-VARME

The Danish pork exporter ESS-Food is planning to make Germany part of its domestic market. So far, the company has signed a contract with the large supermarket chain Metro, including supplying supermarkets in Germany, Austria, Portugal, the UK and Denmark with meat. In the near future, even the Dutch chain Marco will be included (Metro has recently acquired a 50% stake in Marco). Ole Verner, director of ESS-Food, says the pork market in Germany is stagnating, and that ESS-Food has to win market share to become a palyer on the market.

DSM und Ter Hell mit mehr Kooperation

German D sseldorf-based DSM Deutschland GmbH, part of the Dutch DSM group, is to intensify cooperation with Herne-based Ter Hell Plastic GmbH in the sector of technical plastics. Ter Hell specialises in compounding, trade, distribution and recycling of plastics. An existing distribution agreement has been expanded to cover 20% of DSM Deutschland's business with technical plastics. The technical plastics division of DSM Deutschland has a turnover of more than DM 700mn.
