ESSKAY PHARMA LAUNCHES MEDICINES IN POUCHES
Article Abstract:
Esskay Pharmaceuticals Ltd of Baroda has introduced a range of anti-biotics and anti-ulcer products in pouch packs for the Andhra Pradesh market. The medicines in the pouch packs are exactly calibrated in single doses and are economically priced. This is the first time that the export oriented company is catering to the domestic market. Its entire turnover of Rs4.75 crore in 1997-98 was derived from exports. (khr)

SUN PHARMA INTO ANTI-CANCER DRUGS

Sun Pharma (SP) which has larger share in cardiovasculars has recently taken over a small pharmaceutical company to manufacture anti-cancer drugs. It has also acquired controlling stake of two companies for manufacturing penicillin and cephalosporins. It also holds stake in Caraco Pharma of New Jersey. For 1997-98, the company has posted a net profit of $14.2 million on sales of $58 million. (gs)
