Diageo and Pernod Lead Pack in Bid For Seagram Assets

Canada's Seagram Company Ltd., which is owned by France's Vivendi Universal SA, is negotiating to sell its drinks unit to Pernod Ricard SA and Diageo PLC. The sale, which has attracted competing bids from Bacardi Ltd. and Brown-Forman Corp., is valued at $8 billion.
