EU Parliament tries to strike chemical balance

Article Abstract:

The European Union has watered down it's legislation for industrial chemicals, creating a balance between environmentalists and business. The legislation calls for the removal of some toxic chemicals from the market and narrows testing requirements for less used toxic substances that are likely to be exposed to people.

EU environment plan is aimed at products

Article Abstract:

The European Union will introduce a new environmental policy program that will hold companies accountable for the pollution caused by their products. The EU wants to make companies responsible for such pollution from "design to the dustcart."

EU accepts bid from two groups on satellite effort

The European Union has accepted a bid to build the Galileo Joint Undertaking satellite navigation system. Both iNavSat and Eurely have been accepted in a joint bid for the $3.87 billion project.
