EU-U.S. deal leaves questions

Article Abstract:

The U.S. and the European Union have reached an agreement to place a subsidy cap of 5% of the total agricultural production value for farmers. However, farm advocates and trade officials said that the agreement's true test will come when decisions are made as to where and how deeply the subsidies will be reduced.

Monsanto may split off its pharmaceuticals unit

Monsanto Co. is studying the possibility of splitting off its Searle pharmaceutical division from its agricultural operations. The plan is part of Monsanto's consideration of dividing up the company.
