DaimlerChrysler rejects EU antitrust claims

DaimlerChrysler AG stated that it will challenge the European Union's (EU) antitrust claims against the car maker. The EU accused DaimlerChrysler of violating EU antitrust regulations by not permitting its exclusive dealer networks in Germany, the Netherlands, Spain, and Belgium, to sell Mercedes passenger cars to nonresidents. DaimlerChrysler said that it will fight the charges as it does not perceive any real grounds for a violation of EU competition regulations.

Hong Kong's telecommunications regulator stated that it had considered suspending Hongkong Telecom's license for the discounts. The Telecommunications Authority asserted that it had ordered the company stop offering unauthorized discounts for the third time.
