East of Eden: human evolution

Article Abstract:

Two human skulls discovered in central China seem to have characteristics of both homo sapiens and homo erectus, which was homo sapiens' immediate predecessor. This suggests that the transition to homo sapiens happened almost everywhere during the same time period.
