Ekran and ABB Asea Brown fail to end dispute on dam

Article Abstract:

Ekran Bhd. and ABB Asea Brown Boveri AG have failed to resolve their dispute over the Bakun hydroelectric dam project. The exact nature of the dispute is yet unknown with both parties denying that there is a conflict of interest regarding their respective procurement contracts. Rumors have put the nature of the dispute as either environmental of political but there is a media blackout on the issue so there is no way of knowing what the real issue is.

Remote island resort project may be a gamble for Ekran

Article Abstract:

Ekran Bhd. has decided to invest a total of $200 million for a development project in Davao Philippines, despite threats of slow growth and meager investment returns. The project involves the construction of a resort, casino, cock-fighting coliseum and a 300-suite luxury hotel in Samal Island. Despite the inaccessibility of the place to tourists and domestic visitors, alike, Ekran officials believe the project would reap convincing rewards.

Malaysian cemetery project gets buried in controversy

Article Abstract:

Several religious and ethnic groups in Malaysia are preparing to launch a staunch resistance against the government's plan to move a block of cemeteries and crematoriums in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The government awarded Pribena Construction Sdn Bhd a contract worth 800 mil rinngit to move the graves and to develop a new cemetery. Under the proposal, the remains of hundreds of thousands of people will be moved.
