Digital technology and computer effects are increasingly used in motion picture production. This can lead to a drop in production costs, and is likely to have a major impact on the animation employment market. Major Hollywood studios tend to use computers to create effects that could not otherwise be created. Much of the budget for the movie 'Titanic' was accounted for by computer effects. There are possibilities for smaller producers using digital technology, but large companies still have an advantage in the entertainment industry.
