Eni's net profit falls 11%: drop in production and a weak dollar offset acquisitions

Article Abstract:

Third-quarter net profit for Italian energy firm Eni S.p.A. fell 11% to $3.1 bil, due partly to a weaker US dollar and lower hydrocarbon production. Adjusted net profit, which discounts special item and inventory changes, dropped 28%. Net revenue decreased 0.9%. However, Eni made significant acquisitions this year.
