Russia-Western Europe cable link raises some static in Poland

Article Abstract:

Poland will begin an investigation of a Russian fiber optic cable line being built by Gazprom, running along the Yamal gas pipeline, which is a joint venture between Gazprom and Poland's main gas company. Poland claims the cable's capacity violates earlier agreements and could interfere with the Polish telecommunications industry.

Enron says it will restate results going back to 1997; U.S. energy concern fires two officers with links to partnerships

Article Abstract:

ChevronTexaco Corp. is expected to help Dynegy with funds in the Enron Corp. financial situation as acquisition talks continue. Enron is providing the SEC with restated financial reports going back to 1997. Three entities had possibly not been properly disclosed, Chewco Investments L.P., Joint Energy Development Investments L.P. and LJM Cayman L.P. Also, shareholder equity shrank by $1.2 billion in an investment vehicle related to CFO Andrew Fastow. He has left the company.
