Expect a measured approach from Australia's coalition

Article Abstract:

Australia's new government, led by John Major of the coalition of the Liberal and National parties, ended the 12-year reign of the Labor Party in a landslide victory in the 1996 election. The different approach of this party from the previous Labor government is expected to bring about radical changes in all sectors particularly the economy. Key issues that are predicted to come into focus under this new leadership are labor, public-sector and tax reforms.

Australian voters don't have much choice

Article Abstract:

The parties involved in the 1996 national elections in Australia have not offered alternatives to the voting public. Opposition party Liberal-National Coalition has stated its support for government policies regarding competition. Similarly, the party has accepted the Labor Party's policies regarding trade, diplomacy and the settlement of native-title land disputes. The opposition adopted the same strategy they took in the 1993 polls.

Constitutional referendum should offer Australians the radical choice of a 'maximum' monarchy

Article Abstract:

The forthcoming constitutional referendum should provide Australians the extreme alternative to become an absolute monarchy, instead of only becoming a minimal republic or minimal monarchy. An Australian monarchy will be advantageous for Australia's economy and tourism. Moreoever, the monarchy would aid in maintaining the honor of Australian public institutions as opposed to a system totally domineered by politicians.
