Exports sustain slowing growth

A weak consumer demand and the deflationary pressures in the Japanese economy are discussed. The GDP grew by 2.7 percent in 2003 and is expected to advance at a pace of 2.1 percent.

Business investment needed

Australia's economic growth is expected to slow in 2003 with an expectation of 3.1% growth. Business investment is expected to slow as well as new housing starts.
