FRANCE: A SURVEY ON WOMEN AND DIY

Article Abstract:

A recent study carried out for Castorama found that French women are very active in DIY activities. 93% of women said that they know how to do-it-themselves. 77% have decorated their homes to some extent, 65% participate in gardening, 58% carry out small DIY activities, and 25% have done work on the framework of a building. 76% have painted a piece of furniture or shelf, and 53% have sanded down a piece of furniture. 32% have laid down tiles, and 44% have painted an outside wall. Finally 43% of French women believe they are more gifted for DIY activities than men, and 41% consider themselves more capable than specialised businesses in the sector. 10% believe they could do everything alone, and 44% would attempt any DIY task with a little bit of help. However, 48% have never purchased a tool.

FRANCE: PRACTICALITY AND SERVICE TO GAIN LOYALTY

Article Abstract:

Innovation in food packaging seeks to make products more convenient. The new containers are designed to suit new ways of eating, particularly eating on the go. Therefore, they must be easier to carry, stock, use, open, and close. Practicality and service to customers enable brands, including the private labels, to demonstrate their innovative power to clients. In stores, these new criteria enable retailers to set themselves apart from competition, to facilitate the act of purchasing, and to increase customer loyalty.
