The Chairman of Club Mediterranee announced it was in negotiations with a world leading retail group in which to market its products. This group could well be Carrefour which has not denied this fact, and which has been waiting since 1991, the creation date of its subsidiary, Voyages Carrefour, to sell Club Med products.

FRANCE: AUCHAN AND TRANSPORT PARTNERSHIP CHARTER

Article Abstract:

As part of its warehouse certification plan, Qualicert, Auchan intends to improve its relations with regional and national transport groups. In signing the 'Transport Partnership Charter' with transport groups, region by region, the north based group is, among others, committing itself to improving the reception of drivers with the installation of reception lounges in all of its establishments (they will be equipped with sanitary blocks, showers and drinks vending machines), to not cause a delay in delivery times, making it impossible to respect road safety, and to reduce the drivers' waiting times to 30 minutes (compared to 58 minutes on average at present). Auchan also announced the set up of a follow-up committee, integrated by transport groups and representatives from Auchan. All of these measures should permit Auchan to achieve a greater efficiency in its logistics activity.
