FRANCE: FLEURY MICHON'S NATURE & PLAISIR

Article Abstract:

Fleury Michon, the leader on the chilled ready meal market is gaining strength with the launch of the Nature & Plaisir line, a line of four original dishes from the chef Joel Robuchon. This new line combines balanced meals and taste with new dishes such as Amorique pork with spring peas, Camaret trout and an artichoke timbale, farm-raised chicken with tomatoes and wheat, and white Cape hake with rice from the Camargue delta. The innovation lies in the small sachet of olive oil and aromatic herbs included with each of these four recipes. When the dish is heated, the consumer just pours the contents of the sachet with its herbs (rosemary and chives) over it. Fleury Michon teamed up with a company which specialises in natural medicine in order to offer this innovation - the packaging explains the function of the herbs which were chosen. The Nature & Plaisir line has been available since 1 February 2000 at about FFr 29 per dish.
