Fashionably late? Designer brands are starting to embrace E-commerce

Article Abstract:

Fashion houses in a bid for increased revenue are beginning to embrace e-commerce. For little investment costs online marketing venues are creating a summer storm and at increased convenience to customers. Dior, Bottega Veneta, Louis Vuitton and DKNY have all opened virtual boutiques with Prada and Fendi amongst others having online venues in development.

As luxury industry goes global, knock-off merchants follow

Counterfeit luxury-goods in the European Union are being spurred by Asian knock-offs and internet sales. Giuseppe Festa, a Neopolitan businessman is up on charges of counterfeiting amongst other charges for masterminding one of the largest faux luxury-goods rackets in Europe.
