The name of the game is good connections

Article Abstract:

Germany's North Sea port, Bremerhaven, is Europe's largest car shipment center, handling 760,000 cars in 1992. The car terminal has 94 hectares of parking decks and is adding another 44.4. One of the port's greatest assets is its proximity to many waterways and other ports, including Bremen, Europe's leading cotton port. A container shuttle train will connect these ports with Hamburg, which has easier access to Eastern European and Far Eastern trade, two of the biggest potential markets in the world.
