Fletcher to sell paper division to Norske Skog in a cash deal

Fletcher Challenge Ltd. is selling its paper unit to Norske Skog ASA for US$2.5 billion (2.61 billion euros) in cash. The deal is the largest foreign acquisition ever made by a Norwegian firm.

Svenska Cellulosa likely to end bid for Metsa Tissue

Svenska Cellulosa AB is expected to withdraw its attempt to acquire Metsa Tissue Oyj after the European Commission refused to give its approval. Svenska planned to acquire Metsa for 650 million euros.

Amcor sells stake in Australia holding

Amcor Ltd. has sold off its share of Kimberly-Clark Australia to Kimberly-Clark Corp. Amcor will raise A$775 million (451.8 milion euros) from the divestment of its 50% share in Kimberly-Clark.
