Fluid blocks should be commissioned by the summer of 1999

Article Abstract:

ECKG (Kladno, Czech Republic), power company, should commission two fluid blocks in the summer of 1999. Each of the blocks will have an electrical output of 135 MW. The blocks are the main part of a project on a co-generation electric power and heat source. The firm will invest a total of 12 bil Kc in the project. About two-thirds of the sum have been invested. The company has completed the reconstruction of an old heating source and has started the pilot operation of a natural gas source with an internal combustion turbine with an output of 66 MW within the project. The project is realised by ECKG's owners NRG Energy (US), power firm, El Paso Energy (US), power firm, and a consortium of Nations Energy (US) and Stredoceska energeticka (Prague, Czech Republic).

Visbreaking equipment is commissioned

Article Abstract:

Ceska rafinerska (CER) (Litvinov, Czech Republic), refinery firm, has commissioned a unit of the thermic cracking of heavy oil fractions at its refinery in Litvinov. The firm invested 1.36 bil Kc in the installation of the visbreaking equipment with a capacity of 2,500 t per day. The new unit should ensure a gross profit of 500 mil Kc per year. The investment should be recovered within 2.5 years. The equipment should eliminate the products that are hard to utilise including oils with a high content of sulphur. The unit should increase the share of commercially valuable products, mainly propane-butane and components for the mixing of petrol and Diesel oil.
