Focusing material requirements planning (MRP) towards performance

Article Abstract:

The successes and the problems experienced with material requirements planning (MRP) are examined. Several articles are investigated to determine the major problems of MRP. It is also determined whether these deficiencies are correctable and the results of not correcting these shortcomings. It was observed that MRP is not a failure nor outdated. It is its usage that is outdated. MRP is most appropriate for job shops that need flexibility in the production sequence, in the quantity of production and in the timing of the production process.

HOPDM (version 2.12) - a fast LP solver based on a primal-dual interior point method

Article Abstract:

The Higher Order Primal Dual Method 2.12 package is an efficient public-domain linear programming solver. The program, which was written in Fortran 77, implements the primal-dual interior point method for solving linear programming problems. A comparison with the Cplex 3.0 program using three large linear problems demonstrates its speedy convergence to an optimal solution. At present, two versions exist for 32-MB and 64-MB workstations.

Duality in multiobjective nonlinear programming involving semilocally convex and related functions

Article Abstract:

An analysis of the optimality conditions for a multiobjective nonlinear programming model under assumptions of semilocal convexity, semilocal quasiconvexity and semilocal pseudoconvexity is presented. The analysis showed the generation of Wolfe type and Mond-Weir type duals from an evaluation of the right differentials of the objective and constraint functions.
