Article Abstract:

UK businesses must do more to develop employees' trust of managers. A recent survey revealed that almost 50% of male manual workers did not trust their managers, and only 10% believed information given by company directors. The situation is better in small businesses where most employers felt they understood the aims of the company and more than 75% supported these aims. Work experts believe that taking time and effort to develop the trust of employees is an important part of employee loyalty development.

Do you walk the talk?

Article Abstract:

The language used by entrepreneurs tends to be different from that used in mainstream business. Entrepreneurs have a non-conformist approach to business language, and try to distinguish themselves by not using it. Some observers feel that mainstream businesses would benefit from studying the language used by entrepreneurs, thus allowing them to make the changes required to improve their performance.
