For soaring Google, next act won't be as easy as the first

Google Inc. is facing copyright infringement complaints from television broadcasting companies as it continues in its mission to be able to "search all of the world's information". The internet search engine company used still images and partial transcripts from television programs on its Web service, drawing ire from television broadcasting industry executives. Google Inc. net income was $399 million on $3.2 billion in revenue last year and share price closed yesterday on the New York Stock Exchange at $292.72.

TV drama: For Nielsen, fixing old ratings system causes new static

Article Abstract:

Television audience rating company Nielsen Media Research Inc. is under attack from broadcasters and lawmakers who say that its data management methods are antiquated, its ratings results shoddy, and its minority viewer statistics deficient. As a result, Nielsen is planning to invest $200 million in new technology and will be introducing a new tracking method better adapted to the channel-surfing habits of television viewers.
