HSBC is sued over valuation of fund's bonds

US real estate investment firm Luminent Mortgage Capital Inc. has sued the UK's HSBC Holdings PLC, alleging that HSBC's valuation of certain subprime mortgage bonds was inappropriately low, and bought the bonds at below their fair value, profiting at the fund's expense.

Invesco, AIM settle trading-abuse cases

Invesco Funds Group Inc. and AIM Investments, both units of Amvescap PLC of London, have agreed to pay a total of $375 million in penalties and restitution. The firms have faced allegations that they allowed favored investors to trade ahead of regular investors.
